Occupational Balance Consulting provides occupational therapy assessments and Initial Needs Assessments for case managers, solicitors and rehabilitation teams supporting clients after road traffic accidents, catastrophic injury or life changing trauma.
I can assess how injury, disability, pain, fatigue, trauma, cognitive changes or mental health difficulties are affecting a person’s ability to manage everyday life, work, study, family roles and community participation.
Assessments may consider:
- Personal care and daily routines.
- Domestic tasks and home management.
- Mobility, transfers and access around the home.
- Fatigue, pain, stamina and pacing.
- Cognitive function, including attention, memory, processing speed, organisation and planning.
- Emotional adjustment, confidence and psychological barriers to participation.

- Community access, transport and leisure participation.
- Parenting, family roles and social participation.
- Education, work or vocational goals.
- Rehabilitation priorities and onward therapy needs.
Initial Needs Assessments can help identify the person’s immediate and longer term rehabilitation needs, current risks, support requirements, therapy priorities, equipment needs and recommended next steps.
I bring experience from occupational therapy, rehabilitation, case management and workplace assessment. This allows me to consider both the immediate functional impact of injury and the longer term support needed to help the person rebuild safe, meaningful and sustainable routines.
Reports can support rehabilitation planning, case management decision making, funding requests, treatment coordination and practical goal setting.
My approach is client centred, trauma informed and functional. I focus on what the person needs and wants to do, what is getting in the way, and what practical support may help them regain independence, confidence and participation in everyday life.
